Embroidery Club: Cindi Luther instructor A new year, a new embroidery program. 2024 will bring Kimberbell Digital Dealer Exclusives Collection 3 to our club. This is a 12 month program with 1 bonus project. Techniques used include:
Piecing in-the-hoop
Creating fringe
Adding background quilting
completing projects in-the-hoop
Creating dimensional elements
Stiching on Kimberblanks
Using Flexi Foam and other stabilizers
Installing a zipper in-the-hoop
Learning how to multi-hoop
You can sign up for individual classes for $15.00 each or sign up for all 13 and pay only $150.00. You can download your own information from Kimberbell and never miss a lesson. Open to all brands of embroidery machines as long as you know how to operate the machine. Next session is Saturday, May 11, 9:30-12:30. This month's exclusive project is an in the hoop tool wrap. This class will address pinpoint placement and how you can benefit from using it. Sign up today for this fun FPP class. We will make a bee, thermos cup, popsicles, and other fun summer blocks. Foundation paper piecing. Quilt is 28" by 38". Blocks are 10"finished. Class Fee $25.00 plus printing fees payable to Anne. April 23 – Tuesday, 10:30 – 4p.m.

*If a student must miss a class, they will still receive the folder and work from the class they missed.
Jan 6 – Picking fabrics, reviewing tools needed, cutting strips, sewing a ¼” seam. Sew a rail fence block. Homework --Log cabin block.
Feb 3 – We will review your rail fence and log cabin blocks from the Jan class and learn to sew on setting triangles. Homework – Coffin Star Block.
March 2 - there will be no class as the Mid Atlantic Quilt Fest will be at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
April 6 –We will review your Coffin Star blocks and learn half square triangles while making a Whirlwind block.
May 4 – Review Whirlwind blocks and learn to make a Four patch variation that needs quarter squares. Another skill to learn!
June 1 - Double Monkey Wrench- this is your last block! We will begin discussing batting and quilting.
July 6 – Bring your completed top and we will cover batting and the different ways to baste. Simple straight-line quilting will be shown. And lastly, how to make and sew on your binding.

PANEL PARADE - 2024 !! DO YOU LOVE PANELS? There are too many to count in my cabinets so I will spend 2024 sewing them up. Would you like to join me? Each Panel Parade class is a stand-alone class so feel free to step in at any time. The classes are suitable for every skill level and the projects are designed to be completed in very little time. Every class will feature a different technique to enhance a panel, starting with basics, and then class by class, we will become more adventurous, artistic, and confident. Next class is Tuesday, May 21.

Half a Zip Pouch This pouch is tiny but opens wide and holds more than it looks. The small one has no lining, no interfacing. The medium one has a lining and uses interfacing. Both are serged with half a zipper length! Learn how to install a zipper pull. The pattern results in making two pouches of each size at the same time…. give one as a gift and keep the other.
