We are starting to collect quilts and monetary donations for the Suffolk tornado victims.  If you would like to donate you can do so at many locations around Hampton Roads.  Participating in this quilt drive are A Different Touch, What's Your Stitch N Stuff, Quilting Bee, Ladybug, SewEZ, Nancy's Calico Patch, Addicted Quilter and both Love2Quilt locations.  At this point we are collections quilts and monetary donations through the end of May.  If you don't have time to make a complete quilt but would like to help we also have a number of pieced quilt tops that you can add batting, backing, binding and quilting to.  This might be great practice for the long arm quilters out there who would like to try some new techniques.

Along another charitable line, Collier has brought in more Linus quilt kits.  If you'd like to help the children of Hampton Roads you can pick up a kit which includes a pieced top and backing, add batting and quilting and return to us when complete.

Two new embroidery collections have arrived in the last week.  "Spring Linens" contains floral designs which can be used on a variety of projects from linens to garments and appeal to all ages.  "Baby Breedlove" by Jessica Breedlove will add the perfect touch to childrens clothing or home dec items.

"Gifts Galore" A new ongoing series of classes hosted by Liz Cossaboon will meet once a quarter.  Fun ideas for giving as gifts or keeping for yourself.  Most projects are do-able in one day for most sewers.  The first class on May 14 will be a tablerunner and placemats.  Class fee is $20.00 plus supplies.
